Proceedings

The IAU Symposium 257 Proceedings will be made available both in book form and electronically.

For the Proceedings, use has to be made of style-files provided by the IAU Publisher: Cambridge University Press (CUP). Style files and Instructions for Authors can be found at: ftp://ftp.sron.nl/pub/karelh/UPLOADS/IAU-CUP.dir/authors.dir  Detailed instructions are in the README.txt file. Note that Invited Reviews have 10 pages, Oral Contributed Talks 5 pages and Posters have 3 pages allocated in the Proceedings.

The contract with CUP stipulates that Proceedings will be published six months after the Symposium. CUP needs three months for the production process, leaving the three months right after the Symposium for the Editors to complete their task. This implies that Proceedings' Editors have to request from all Authors to either email their completed manuscripts to them before the Symposium or to email the manuscripts within a month after the end of the Symposium. Please note, we will not be able to accept any manuscripts for publication after October 20, 2008.

Your article should be submitted electronically to Joachim.M.Schmidt@nasa.gov   Please send Joachim the TEX  and EPS files as well as the resulting PDF file.

A few useful notes:

• For the publication of your  article the IAU Copyright needs to be submitted. Download the file ftp://ftp.sron.nl/pub/karelh/UPLOADS/IAU-CUP.dir/authors.dir/IAU-Copyright-Form.pdf, fill it out and fax it to Joachim Schmidt (fax number: ++1-301-286-1433).
• The cost of the proceedings book is included in your registration fee; all participants will receive it free of charge. So, we need your complete and accurate mailing address. Please make sure that the LOC has it!
• When available, question and answers (as they appear in the Q&A forms collected during the Symposium) will be added at the end of each article.
• Color figures will be free for the electronic version of the proceedings, but not for the printed version (book). Therefore if you have included a color figure in your article and do not wish to pay the relevant color-figure charges you should make sure that the figure will reproduce well in black-and-white.
